Conscript Brings Pixel Art Survival Horror to Console & PC
In the hazy days of 2020, Catchweight Studio launched a Kickstarter campaign for an intriguing survival horror game, Conscript. The concept was straightforward yet captivating: a top-down survival horror game inspired by Resident Evil, set in the grim trenches of World War I. This unique premise quickly garnered a passionate following. Now, four years later, Team17 Digital has acquired the publishing rights and is gearing up for full launches on both PC and consoles.
What is Conscript?
Conscript immerses players in the harrowing reality of the First World War, particularly during the Battle of Verdun in 1916. Players step into the boots of a lone French soldier on a desperate quest to find his missing brother. The game promises to deliver a classic survival horror experience, combining scavenging for supplies, solving complex puzzles, and surviving against relentless enemies.
"With Conscript, I aimed to immerse players in the grim reality of World War I while delivering the tense, gripping gameplay that survival horror fans know and love. I can’t wait to bring this experience to both PC and console players later this year and am especially excited to see the game on the shelves," shared Jordan Mochi, founder and solo developer at Catchweight Studio.

Conscript offers high replayability with various difficulty settings, multiple endings, unlockable costumes, and bonus weapons. Players will navigate intricate, interconnected WW1-themed areas while solving environmental puzzles and managing resources effectively. The game features a tense atmosphere enhanced by pixel art aesthetics and oppressive sound design.
