Hallow’s End Returns to World of Warcraft With New Rewards and Events

Azeroth’s most haunting celebration has returned.
Blizzard Entertainment has brought back Hallow’s End to World of Warcraft, offering players two weeks of eerie festivities, new cosmetic rewards, and the chance to face the legendary Headless Horseman once again. The event runs from October 18 to November 1, inviting adventurers across Azeroth to join the spooky fun.

A Celebration of Freedom and Fear

The roots of Hallow’s End reach back to Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, when Sylvanas Windrunner and her Forsaken broke free from the Lich King’s grasp. For the Forsaken, the event symbolizes freedom from the Scourge, while the Worgen mark it as a grim reminder of the trials they’ve endured. Both The War Within and WoW Classic players can now take part in the festivities, visiting inns and towns across Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, the Broken Isles, the Dragon Isles, and the newly introduced Khaz Algar region.

New Ghoulish Rewards

This year’s Hallow’s End introduces brand-new versions of the Headless Horseman’s classic loot. Players can battle the spectral rider daily at the Scarlet Monastery in The War Within, earning Loot-Filled Pumpkins that may contain rare transmog armor, weapons, and even the coveted Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger — an updated edition of one of the rarest mounts in WoW history.

Those who prefer a slower hunt can collect Tricky Treats from candy buckets found at inns, seasonal quests, or by defeating the Horseman himself. These treats can be exchanged with special vendors near Stormwind and Orgrimmar for ghoulish weapons, armor, and returning holiday items.

Other Updates Across Azeroth

Beyond the Halloween celebrations, Blizzard is running a Housing Early Access Test on the Public Test Realm (PTR) between October 16 and 19, allowing players to preview the long-awaited player housing system. Meanwhile, the Midnight Alpha Phase 3 continues for selected testers, opening levels 83–88, new dungeons, and delves in the Harandar and Eversong Woods zones.

12-Month Subscription Bonuses

Blizzard is also offering exclusive rewards for players who purchase a 12-month World of Warcraft subscription, including the Astral Aurochs Skyriding Mount, Sha-scarred Drake, Grandiose Grrloc, and additional pets. Current subscribers will automatically receive these items before October 31, 2025, provided their renewal remains active.

The Spirit of Hallow’s End

Whether you’re trick-or-treating through Azeroth’s inns or confronting the Headless Horseman for his legendary charger, Hallow’s End 2025 promises nostalgia, new loot, and plenty of Halloween magic. Between the ongoing Midnight testing and the return of Azeroth’s favorite spooky festival, it’s shaping up to be a thrilling season for World of Warcraft fans.
