LittleBigPlanet 3 Online Servers Shut Down Indefinitely on PS4
Sony has announced the indefinite shutdown of the online servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 on PlayStation 4, following temporary closure in January 2024 due to persistent technical issues.
Initially deactivated in January over various problems, the decision to keep the servers offline permanently was confirmed on Sony's decommissioned servers support page. This shutdown means players will no longer have access to online features, including the ability to share and play others’ creations.
While online functionality has ceased, players can still access user-generated content saved locally on their consoles and enjoy offline gameplay, such as the single-player campaign. This is not the first time the franchise has faced server issues; the PlayStation 3 servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 were permanently shut down in 2021 following DDOS attacks.
Released in November 2014, LittleBigPlanet 3 expanded on its predecessors by offering more complex challenges and tools, allowing for creative problem-solving and gameplay. As noted in GameSpot's review, "LittleBigPlanet 3 is the series' most challenging installment yet, with more tools and complicated problems to solve, inviting players to find their own solutions through the imaginative world of Bunkum."
