Battlefield 6 Fixes Frustrating Movement Bug Affecting Jump Momentum

Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have rolled out a new update for Battlefield 6, addressing a frustrating bug that impacted player movement. The fix specifically targets an issue where jump momentum would behave inconsistently when players used certain weapons.

Since its highly anticipated release, Battlefield 6 has seen a massive player surge, peaking at over 700,000 concurrent players on Steam. While the launch has been largely successful, the game has not been without issues. Players have reported frustrations with helicopter combat - particularly due to short out-of-bounds timers - and despite advanced anti-cheat systems, some cheaters have still managed to appear in online matches.

The development team shared the latest fix through the official Battlefield Comms social media account, confirming that the jump-momentum issue has now been resolved. According to the post, the patch is already live across all platforms, and players should see the changes take effect in their next fresh match. EA did not specify which weapons were responsible for triggering the bug.

Beyond the latest patch, the developers continue to engage closely with community feedback. A recent interaction with one of the game’s producers hinted that Battlefield 6 might soon allow players to wait longer in queues to join preferred maps. Additional improvements - including a server browser and matchmaking enhancements - are also being explored to make finding custom matches easier and faster.

The game’s explosive launch has also raised questions about server stability, as queues reportedly reached over 280,000 players at peak times. The influx of players even caused temporary EA App outages during the release window.

Despite these early growing pains, Battlefield 6’s impressive popularity suggests a strong future for the franchise, as EA and Battlefield Studios continue refining and expanding the experience through patches and player-driven updates.
